About Karen Roth

Karen Roth is co-founder and managing partner of Apogee Wealth Advisors and brings a lifetime of experience to her role as a wealth management professional. Karen’s passion for the business begins with helping our clients accomplish their personal and business goals.

An industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience, Karen began her career as an accountant for three years and then as an analyst for Brown Brothers Harriman. She later joined the Bank of New York as a credit analyst, followed by a role at UBS Securities where she jointly managed a $2 billion loan portfolio, and later became a sell-side corporate bond analyst. Her next role was as a VP/corporate bond analyst with Emigrant Savings Bank where she was responsible for high-yield and high-grade bonds. Karen then served as senior high yield analyst at a high yield hedge fund, and most recently was an SVP in a wealth management firm, where she began working with families and honed her skills in financial and estate planning, insurance, and corporate benefits, and developed a loyal following of high-net-worth clients.

Karen serves a range of clients, including young families, high-net-worth families, financially savvy executives, athletes, and independent and divorced women. Karen’s primary mission while working with clients who have opened their lives to her is to keep their best interest, and the best interest of their families, in mind. She prides herself on doing what it takes to help her clients achieve their financial goals and taps into her vast network to orchestrate solutions.

Karen earned her MBA in finance from NYU’s Stern School of Business and received her undergraduate degree in accounting from the State University of New York at Binghamton. She is a Certified Public Accountant and has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. She has her life and health insurance license and holds her FINRA Series 6, 7, 63, and 65 securities registrations. She is a board member of UJA Federation Northern Westchester Women’s Board, on the finance committee at her synagogue, and a member of the Westchester Business Council. Karen was formerly on the Boards of UJA Westchester Business & Professionals Division and Oak Lane Child Care Center for several years and was the treasurer of her synagogue Sisterhood. Don Kimball

Technology Consultant

Don Kimball is our director of technology.  He graduated from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and earned his Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certifications.

As an IT professional, Don has held multiple managerial and skilled worker roles across the technology landscape including desktop, web and mobile software development, data architecture/engineering/administration, networking, system administration, security, inventory and computer administration and support.

Don is passionate about making computers work for humans, instead of the other way around.  With so many processes, systems, and devices requiring an ever-increasing amount of attention and interaction, it is easy to get sucked into those technological black holes.  During his career he has had multiple opportunities to design and implement software solutions and processes that simplified and automated tasks that previously consumed large amounts of human time and effort.

A native of the San Francisco area, Don has lived in the Provo, Utah, area for over two decades.  He enjoys picnicking in local parks and reading good stories with his wife, and spends much of his free time contributing to non-profit organizations.
